Project Design Notes
Tyson’s Chance
About The Project
Tyson’s Chance is a non-profit located in Shelbyville. They are a rescue operation for animals that have behavioral or medical issues. They even provide hospice services to animals that are in their golden years. I was introduced to their site by my web design professor, April Fultz. I chose to take them for my non-profit site rebuild assignment.
I started by taking a look at their site and the information they displayed on each page. I took notice that they had some sections that were outdated and some sections were not functional or without working links. I compiled a list of what information could be used and what information could be condensed to which pages. That allowed me to compile a site map to better plan my design out with the relevant information.
Tyson’s Evolution
I worked out a site map for the website that made the navigation and movement through the site make sense. I then put together some sketches and wireframes. I originally had a very blocky homepage layout. So instead of the square blocks, I decided that it would be better that there was a different way to interact with the homepage. That came in the form of a tabs section, where they could interact with not only the homepage but it guided them to relevant information located throughout the site.
